LUXURY ON LAKE GARDA

Four very lucky guests enjoyed an unforgettable weekend on the shores of beautiful Lake Garda. Guests enjoyed staying in the magical surroundings of Locanda San Vigilio with it's unique lemonary, centuries old olive groves and historic old port, it provided the perfect retreat from the hectic corporate world.

Friday's itinerary took in a ferry journey across Lake Garda and a tough road ride in Tre Laghi area finishing up on the peninsula of Sirmione with a thermal cure and sports massage at the Terme di Sirmione. In the evening, the guests enjoyed aperitivo in nearby Verona courtesy of Monsieur Ventoux (and Verona resident) Eros Poli at his local enoteca, followed by a memorable dinner at renowned Verona restaurant Il Desco. Also joining us for dinner was double Olympic mountain bike champion, Paola Pezzo, a resident of nearby Bardolino.

Saturday was planned as an epic day out on the mountain bikes. With Paola joining us as a very special guide the guests were treated to some inside knowledge of some of the best trails on the shores of Lake Garda. After droppping into San Vigilio for a quick lunch of delicious home made pasta, the riding carried on til dusk. A day of great single track riding was topped with another exceptional dinner at Al Caval in Torri del Benaco.

After two tough days, Sunday was a well earned day of rest with a leisurely breakfast and lunch enjoyed at San Vigilio's exceptional restaurant, washed down with a final glass of the local Amarone. All too soon our guests were on a flight on to their next business engagement.

A PERSONALISED DOLOMITES RAID

La Fuga organised a cycling tour to remember for two Australian riders who were over in Europe on business. Their Dolomites cycling experience was enhanced by the presence of a La Fuga guide who took care of transport, accommodation and gave them a unique insight into the landscapes of their tour. The taller of the two guests even had the honour of using a bike ridden by the legendary Eros Poli as part of the bike hire deal organised by La Fuga. The week started off with participation in the tough Granfondo Monte Grappa, taking in the climb of Monte Grappa which ascends from 200m to over 2300m above sea level over its 22km length.

After recovering from their exertions at the charming Hotel Belvedere, just outside Treviso, the group transferred to Bormio, putting them within reach of the classic climbs of Passo Stelvio, Passo Mortirolo and Passo Gavia. The final location of the tour was the picturesque town of Corvara, in the heart of the Dolomites. From there the two guests were able to take in a loop of the Sellaronda and bag the climbs of the Marmolada / Passo Fedaia, Passo Giau and Passo Falzarego. After a tough hectic days on business, what better way to relax and distress than a fantastic tour of Italy’s most spectacular mountain scenery.
